An ambitious concept, embracing the existing red brick’s quirks and adding a new twist to the facade – which will make way for an open plan layout and master suite wing. A fun and challenging scheme, with the existing building essentially turning its back on north, coupled with a western facing frontage. We’ve managed to harness this light by creating a saw tooth / ‘schooner’ sail like roof form that draws the northern light into the various spaces. We’re aiming to tread lightly when integrating the new with the existing building – limiting unnecessary alterations to reduce waste, costs and our impact. This is part of a long-term project for some great clients
A durable mix of materials to compliment the brickwork are being considered, such as colorbond cladding and their natural earthy colours available.
